Smet Torwat and Other Updates

We're now a few days removed from the death of Zep Norre in the match against the Blackgate Raiders. As tensions have calmed, we've come back to try to get more info on the statuses of Smet Torwat and the Flame Wings of Caledor. Jho the Scrubber told us that Zep's memorial had an unusual amount of women there. Jho also said that he made sure that the gravestone had the words that Zep wanted displayed and it read: I did it all for the [REDACTED]. The conversation with Jho then became awkward as he began asking for advice and explanations on why the women were avoiding him. Being the kind-hearted organization we are, we told him the he would get the answers he needed from Kitro Kreshin. When he went looking for him, we snuck out of the building. Flame Wings' Blizter, Emsi, said that they have won the fight and gotten the owners and sponsors to demand the removal of the coach. We do not have word on who the replacement will be. We just hope that a replacement is found befo...

Flame Wings of Caledor vs Blackgate Raiders - Week 8

Leading up to this game, Smet "The Corpse" Torwat was released due to events off the field. The coach also reduced support staff by reducing cheerleaders and assistant coaches down to one of each. He said it was in preparations for this game with the goal of maintaining the advantage of the injured Rat Ogre missing this game and not allowing inducements to even the odds. He cut a little over 100k from the team value with the changes.  Before the game began the Flames Wings dipped into their gold reserve and purchased a keg of Bloodweiser expecting the Raiders to put elves on the sideline. The Flame Wings won the toss and chose to receive. Jho the Scrubber takes his place on the line of scrimmage across from an orc lineman who's between the Troll and Ogre. The kick is made and the Blackgate Raiders get a jump for it with a blitz. The take the opportunity to defend progress up the sideline, but do not stretch themselves thin by going for the ball. The Flame Wings make an o...

Smet 'The Corpse' Torwat released from the Flame Wings of Caledor

The Flame Wings of Caledor made an announcement late last night that Smet 'The Corpse' Torwat had been released from the team saying: Due to an off-field accident, Smet Torwat had received multiple injuries. This is due to the fact that there are only 2 games left in the season, and Torwat is not expected to recover in time for either. After some searching we tracked down the former player to find out what had happened. It appears that he suffered a broken arm and some sort of back or neck injury on top of the multiple bruises and minor lacerations. When we asked about what happened to him, we were told that he apparently fell for some con scheme of a couple of goblins and when he chased them down, he was met by a couple of Black Orcs. The group of greenskins then proceded to beat him. The medical staff said that it was odd that Smet survived alone, but that he still had all his limbs was unheard of. He's lucky that he was known in the area as a Flame Wings' player, so ...

Flame Wings of Caledor vs Mouseketeers - Week 7

This week the Flame Wings of Caledor are facing the Skaven team of the Mouseketeers. The Flame Wings will be making use of some inducements since they are the underdogs by 180,000 TV. They buy some Extra Team Training, a keg of Bloodweiser, and hire a temp Cheerleader. The wanted an elf cheerleader, but had to settle for a human. Mouseketeers win the toss and choose to receive. The coach places three of Smet Torwat's Four Finishers on the line of scrimmage in an effort to curb their fouling desires. With his focus on the fouling, he erroneously left Yin Kumaro, the team's kicker, on the line. The ball is kicked of to center field Zazz picks up the ball and passes it to the Gutter Runner Asazeshin who runs toward the sideline and across the line of scrimmage with a couple of others to help defend. Rat Fink, the Mouseketeers Rat Ogre, hit Yin Kumaro, injuring him. The Flame Wings coach signals to drag him off the pitch, but it's misinterpreted and the apothecary runs out to ...

Smet Torwat's Four Finishers

We wanted to talk to Smet Torwat after the match against the Deadmonton Drillers, but he needed some time to calm down. While he is not exactly calm, he is in control enough to talk to us now. While we are aware of your immediate reactions after you were fouled, dead, and the resuscitated from the immediate rage on the field, what are your thoughts now? "I'm frustrated with the coach as he's been trying to take the 'high road' and play the game without any extra violence, but that's going to change whether he likes it or not. I've been talking with some of the other linemen. Some of us have come to an understanding. Jho the Scrubber, Kitro Kreshin, Yin Kumaro, and myself are now the Four Finishers. We have made some upgrades to our uniforms and should the opportunity arise, we aim to finish players on the ground. Forget the coach's desired honor." So you have formed a small faction within your own team? "Yes. I tried to get everyone on board,...

Flame Wings of Caledor vs Deadmonton Drillers - Week 6

After playing beastly teams consisting of Nurgle and Skaven, last week the Flame Wings had hope for a more civilized game facing humans. Those hopes were let down with the realization that the supposed honor of the Shoto Samurais did not rise above fouling. But here we are in week 6 facing the Deadmonton Drillers where are the players are elvenkind. The Flame Wings win the toss and choose to receive. The kick off is made and the ball lands midfield near Yodlam Elran. The Flame Wings make a little progress on the line of scrimmage, but most of the Drillers' are still on their feet. A 3 elf cage is made and Elran picks up the ball and takes his place inside. The Drillers hold the line and adjust their position looking to halt forward progress until they see an opportunity to make a play at the ball carrier. The elven sophistication of play can already be felt when compared to previous games. An improvised cage forms near the line of scrimmage and the ball moves a few yards up the fi...

Flame Wings of Caledor vs. Shoto Samurais - Week 5

Week 5 is upon the Flame Wings of Caledor and this week they face the Shoto Samurais. Finally, they get to face a team of sensible beings in this human team. Prior to this game, the opponents have all been freaks and beasts. The Shoto Samurais are down an Ogre due to an injury, but it looks like they’ve hired the star player, Helmut Wulf, in order to fill the position. Flame Wings win the toss and choose to receive the opening kick. Jho the Scubber is back from his injury and on the line of scrimmage. Yodlam Elran, the recently hired thrower takes the field for the first time and stays back to receive the ball. Smet Torwat and Jho the Scrubber are marking the same player after the kick off and Smet jumps to action to by throwing a block at Date Masamune before Jho can screw it up. As Masamune goes down, Smet looks at Jho with disdain and let’s him know that he doesn’t belong here, loud enough that some of the crowd in the stands heard it. Soi ‘Sparrow’ Dang blocks a journeyman who hit...
